Which Instruments can I study at the LMZ?

Applying to the Leopold Mozart Centre (LMZ) at Augsburg University

Studying a BA in Music in Augsburg
The Music Bachelor programme at the Leopold Mozart Centre (LMZ) leads to a professional undergraduate degree in a wide range of professional activities as a musician and music teacher at music schools, academies, general schools and training institutes, as well as for activities as a freelance artist and relating to musical education.

The programme combines practical artistic, theoretical musicological and pedagogical, subject-related specialisations and areas of study.

Artistic education
Professional artistic education is the focus of the course. Special attention is given to providing a well-founded pedagogical qualification beyond mastering the musical craft and the technical knowledge. The study of fundamental questions of the acquisition and teaching of music, knowledge of prerequisites and conditions of musical teaching and learning, working and methodological approaches, as well as training communication skills, together with a high level of competence as an artist, make it possible to effectively convey music later in professional life.

Excellent opportunities for concerts
Students have the opportunity to perform regularly to a wide audience in the University and beyond in internal and public concerts. Augsburg also offers extraordinary opportunities for performances thanks to its historical concert halls, which are second to none. The Golden Hall, the Rococo Hall in the Regierung von Schwaben, the Schaezlerpalais and the Small Golden Hall are particularly noteworthy.
