Willy Viehöver, Dr. (PhD) in political and social sciences. He studied sociology, psychology and pedagogy at the Heinrich-Heine-University of Düsseldorf. He completed his postgraduate studies at the European University Institute in Florence with a Ph.D. in political and social sciences in January 1997. After working as a research associate at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Düsseldorf and for the Munich Project Group for Social Research e.V. (MPS), Willy Viehöver has been member of the scientific staff in the DFG- Project “Socialization of nature and naturalization of society” (1999-2009) at te University of Augsburg, The project was part of the collaborative research center (“Sonderforschungsbereich”) "Reflexive Modernization" (Munich / Augsburg). Since July 2009 Willy Viehöver is research associate in the research project “Participatory Governance of Science”. His main research interests are: qualitative social research, discourse analysis and narrative theory, sociological theory, sociology of the body and medical sociology, cultural and environmental sociology.
